Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a branch of traditional Chinese Medicine. It is the ancient art of inserting fine needles into specific points to treat pain or imbalance. Acupuncture has been practiced for thousands of years in China. It has been developed, tested, researched, and refined for centuries giving us an in depth understanding of the body's energetic balance.
Tui Na
Tui Na, which literally means "pinch and pull," refers to a wide range of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) therapeutic massage and body work. Tui na is considered a medical type of massage, because its purpose is to correct an imbalance in the body rather than to be for relaxation.
Cupping Therapy
Cupping involves placing glass, bamboo or plastic jars on the skin and creating a vacuum by suctioning out the air. The underlying tissue is raised, or sucked, partway into the cup. The purpose of cupping is to enhance circulation, relieve pain, and help move toxins out of your body's tissues.
Chinese Herbal Medicine
The Chinese Materia Medica describes thousands of medicinal substances that practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine combine and use to treat disharmony and disease. Many of these formulas aim to treat the root of the disharmony rather than the merely the disease. Most of these substances are from the leaves, stems, roots, seeds, or flowers of a plant. These can be taken in liquid extracts, granules, capsules, or taken as a tea.
